…to go hiking at Philmont.
And it’s likely that you aren’t either.
Can you walk 10 miles in a day and then get up and do it again tolorrow?
Can you do it carrying 40 pounds of gear?
Can you do it up and down steep slopes?
Can you do it at (and above) 10,000 ft. of elevation?
As I said, I’m not ready yet. But I will be.
Need some inspiration?
“The practice hikes and training are NOT to get you physically fit. That is your personal responsibility. You owe it to yourself and your crew to get in outstanding physical condition. Otherwise you will cheat yourself, and even worse, your crew. This adventure is challenging enough if you are in pristine physical condition, so don’t add that as a barrier.”
